Job description:
Established in 1966, SDM Group are a family run business and one of the longest standing and well respected motor groups in Falkirk. We currently have a vacancy for a Qualified Spray Painter to join our multi award winning Bodyshop team at our Middlefield site in Falkirk.
Role Overview:
As a Spray Paint / Paint Technician, you will be responsible for preparing, priming, and painting vehicles to a high standard following repairs. You will work within a fast-paced, modern workshop environment alongside a team of experienced professionals who take pride in their craftsmanship.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out all aspects of vehicle painting, including prepping, masking, and final finish spraying.
- Ensure all work is completed to manufacturer and industry standards.
- Colour matching and mixing to achieve perfect finishes.
- Use of specialist equipment such as spray guns and drying ovens.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Work efficiently to meet production deadlines.
- Conduct quality checks on all finished work.
Candidate Requirements:
- Proven experience as an automotive spray painter or paint technician.
- Knowledge of paint mixing and application techniques.
- Ability to use paint systems and application tools confidently.
- High attention to detail with a commitment to quality.
- A team player with a strong work ethic.
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Paint Refinishing) preferred but not essential.
