Job description:

Established in 1966, SDM Group are a family run business and one of the longest standing and well respected motor groups in Falkirk. We currently have a vacancy for a Qualified Spray Painter to join our multi award winning Bodyshop team at our Middlefield site in Falkirk.

Role Overview:

As a Spray Paint / Paint Technician, you will be responsible for preparing, priming, and painting vehicles to a high standard following repairs. You will work within a fast-paced, modern workshop environment alongside a team of experienced professionals who take pride in their craftsmanship.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out all aspects of vehicle painting, including prepping, masking, and final finish spraying.
  • Ensure all work is completed to manufacturer and industry standards.
  • Colour matching and mixing to achieve perfect finishes.
  • Use of specialist equipment such as spray guns and drying ovens.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Work efficiently to meet production deadlines.
  • Conduct quality checks on all finished work.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Proven experience as an automotive spray painter or paint technician.
  • Knowledge of paint mixing and application techniques.
  • Ability to use paint systems and application tools confidently.
  • High attention to detail with a commitment to quality.
  • A team player with a strong work ethic.
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Paint Refinishing) preferred but not essential.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: £33,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
