SDM and The Pride of Forth Valley Awards 2016

On Friday the 11th November 2016, The Pride of Forth Valley Awards took place at the Parsonage at Dunmore. Central FM hosted the event and SDM proudly sponsored the Welcome Reception on the night. 

SDM had a product placement outside the entrance to the Welcome Reception marquee. Two cars were showcased - the brand new Hyundai IONIQ that was only released in October and the dynamic Toyota RAV4 Hybrid.

There was fine dining and fantastic entertainment on the night headlined by 80s icons T'Pau led by singer Carol Decker. However of course the main part of the night was the awards ceremony that rewarded those doing amazing things in our lives and work places today.

SDM had a table of 10 guests on the night that were made up of both employees and customers. It was a special and emotional moment for Martin Adams from the workshop as his nephew Michael Young won the award for Young Person of the Year.

9-year-old Michael started a campaign to get Translarna approved for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy in boys in Scotland. Fronting a petition with over 100,000 signatures, interviews on Sky, BBC & STV and a meeting with the First Minister are all on his list of achievements so far… all whilst battling the condition himself.

All in all it was a fantastically glitzy night that we are very proud to have been a part of.
