It’s all too easy to do as you are told by your insurers when you’ve just had an accident, so, at a very stressful time, it’s important to know your rights.
First and foremost you don’t have to use the repairer of their choice just because they are paying the bill. You have every right to insist your car is repaired by your chosen repairer.

There are good reasons for doing this. An inferior job by someone else will certainly affect the value of your car. Faulty workmanship and poor preparation often don’t show up until long after a job has been completed.

By then it is too late to complain. Also, remember if your vehicle is under manufacturer’s warranty the bodywork warranty will become invalid if genuine parts and procedures are not strictly followed.

At SDM we have the latest paint-spraying technology and low-bake ovens to ensure a finish which perfectly matches your original paintwork, so no-one will ever know your car was damaged. It’s a good idea, if you have an accident to contact us before you ask your insurers for a claim form. We will be able to handle all the arrangements on your behalf, including negotiations with your insurance company.

Investment in New Technology

To ensure the high qualities of welds on your car are the same as the manufacturers, SDM has invested in the latest welding technology. It’s the Car-o-liner CR500 inverter welder. This machine is computerised to eradicate human error when welding. If you over weld a spot-weld this can make the metal brittle and not as strong as it should be, with the new CR500 it picks the correct weld time and current to make sure the weld looks and sticks the same as the manufacturers weld would. Now that’s clever!

Environmentally Friendly

To ensure the perfect colour match we have a computerised paint management system in place.
This gives us access to over 100,000 colours for all leading motor manufacturers.

At SDM we are now doing our bit to help the environment, along with leading motor manufacturers we now use water borne paint rather than solvent.

Once the colour is mixed and applied, every colour is spray over with 2 coats of clear coat. The clear coat that is applied will ensure that the car never losses it shine or starts to fade.

Any accident is traumatic enough without also having to have your vehicle repaired after the event. One call to us can relieve this burden.

You can be sure that from your first contact with us to get an appointed estimate or to arrange a recovery, we'll be considerate, helpful and efficient.

Once our vehicle assessor has created the estimate you can then decide whether it will be an insurance claim, a third party claim or a private claim.

No matter what make or model of vehicle you own, or which insurance company you use, SDM can have you back on the road as quickly as possible - with the minimum of fuss.

• An in-depth, fully itemised appraisal will be prepared using the latest visual imaging systems
• On approval; our highly trained technicians, panel beaters & paint sprayers get to work on your vehicle
• Using computerised jigs and welding equipment, we ensure your vehicle is repaired and restored back to Factory Standard
• Your vehicle is then given a final check with a courtesy wash and vacuum.
