The Hyundai IONIQ offers you an uncompromised driving experience, a sleek design and the latest connectivity features. The IONIQ also delivers peace of mind for customers through the latest active safety features and an industry-leading warranty package.
The All-New Hyundai IONIQ is the world’s first car to offer three different electrified powertrains.
The line-up consisting of the IONIQ Hybrid, the IONIQ Electric and the IONIQ Plug-in will make low- to zero-emission mobility accessible for all.
Deciding on the right IONIQ for you depends on how often you drive, how far you drive, and your driving style. No matter what powertrain you choose, you’ll enjoy a rewarding driving experience and a car that fits perfectly with your lifestyle.
With the regular hybrid model of the IONIQ, it is powered by a 1.6-litre petrol engine that works alongside an electric motor. Combined power output is 146bhp, and in this style the petrol engine and electric motor provide forward motion.
The plug-in hybrid version of the IONIQ has a petrol engine that's used to charge the battery when power supplies are low, and the elevtric motor generated additional power. This model of the IONIQ can travel up to 31 miles on electric power alone.
The electric IONIQ powertrain can travel 155 miles on a single charge, due to a more powerful electric motor, and it has a top speed of 103mph.
Simple, clean, spacious, light and pure - the interior of the IONIQ has been designed to be effortlessly elegant, efficiently clutter-free and logically forward-thinking.
Inside the IONIQ, the weight of interior plastics has been reduced by approximately 20% through the use of a material made of recycled plastic
combined with powdered wood and volcanic stone. SE models feature a black cloth seat trim, while Premium and Premium SE offer black leather seat facings.
The compact electric motor works with the petrol engine to improve fuel economy and lower CO2 emissions. They also combine to maximise acceleration when required.
The specially calibrated 1.6 l GDI internal combustion engine
delivers 105 PS with class-leading energy efficiency.
The petrol engine, electric motor, Lithium-Ion
Polymer battery and Dual Clutch Transmission
are engineered to function together with
High torque and high efficiency are the principal
attributes of the 43.5 PS electric motor. It delivers
impressive acceleration when starting, and can
add extra power at higher road speeds.
The 1.56 kWh high-power battery has superior charge/discharge
characteristics, maximizing both electric driving and energy regeneration.
While the Eco mode maximises fuel efficiency, the Sport
mode engages operating parameters that modify gear shifting,
acceleration, steering feel and digital instruments for a more
rewarding driving experience.
The maximum torque of the electric motor is
available from start-up, resulting in impressive
acceleration especially at low speeds.
The interior of the Hyundai IONIQ features eco-friendly materials and a clean and spacious cabin. There's a central entertainment screen included which can access functions like Sat Nav. The interior also features a wireless charging mat for smartphones and the ability to control phones from the screen using Apple CarPlay and Android Auto apps.
The IONIQ comes with the following features as standard:
Roads may change, but your vehicle should be stable in any situation. Our focus isn't speed or showiness, but safety and stability.
Secure rear collision space and additional cargo capacity have been achieved by positioning the battery underneath the rear seats.
A driver’s airbag, passenger’s airbag, side airbags and curtain airbags protect passengers in the event of a collision
Around 53% of the IONIQ’s body weight - the skeleton of the car - is made from Advanced High Strength Steel. It’s used in key areas - such as the side frames, cross-members, floor pan and front deformable crash structure

Figures shown are for comparability purposes; only compare fuel consumption and CO2 figures with other cars tested to the same technical procedures. These figures may not reflect real life driving results, which will depend upon a number of factors including accessories fitted (post-registration), variations in weather, driving styles and vehicle load. * There is a new test used for fuel consumption and CO2 figures. The CO2 figures shown however, are based on the outgoing test cycle and will be used to calculate vehicle tax on first registration. Find out more here
